Witte de Withstraat. Anyone who has ever been looking for skates, boards or the appropriate clothing, recognizes this doll (on the front it says Wiel be back :) ) They have got a web shop too btw.

Honingerdijk. Chava Beijk and Eva Kroon, the 2 opera singers of Trio Calore during their free-and open air- concert in the Arboretum.

Honingerdijk. Arboretum Trompenburg is beautiful with any weather but I am glad we were just in the car when the rain started coming. It's Dunya today at the Parc near the Euromast and also the last day of the Operadays. Take your pick!

Conradstraat. That huge building crane I told you about was officially being opened today by the mayor (green helmet) and named after Lee Towers (white helmet) this morning.

Nieuwe Binnenweg. Sister Moon has been around for a looong time and sells clothing, advice and tickets for parties.

Meent, Café Brasserie Dudok famous for it's apple cake celebrates it's 20th anniversary this year. Congrats!

Zwaerdecroonstraat. A sport's club especially for women. I always feel a bit weird about those clubs.

Mevlanamoskee. Maybe one day I will try to get inside this mosque that is also rankes in the top 10 buildings of Rotterdam.

Beukelsbrug. We had quite some wind yesterday morning as you can see. How's the weather over at your place?

Abraham van Stolkweg. The Rotterdam animal rescue welcomed visitors today and when my children saw this little terrier run like crazy we had some convincing to do that right before our (booked) holiday a new dog was not sensible. Only a matter of time till we have one I reckon.

Conradstraat. I told you the construction of the new station needed a HUGE crane didn't I? From the angle of these head I guess you can see how tall it really is :)

Heemraadssingel.Some huge weeping willows crying over the problems I have had with blogger these past days.

Eendrachtsweg. Because of the scooter it made me think of Italy and with this crappy weather we are having at the moment, I wish I was in Italy.

Beukelsweg. A well executed example of guerilla gardening ;)

Beukelsdijk. I warned you didn't I? What on earth would possess someone to do this?

Stadionlaan. Nothing fancy, I just liked the rythm of the roofs. Beware though for the GROSS photo tomorrow.

Karel Doormanstraat. Some one had a bad day I guess.

Hovendaal. There are some serious chestnut trees in this street that has it's name from the farmer's 'hoven' that used to be here.

Mathenesserweg. Biological 'farmer's restaurant overlooking the Mathenesserbridge and some nightclubs on the other side of the corner.

Buitendijktunnel. The history of IJsselmonde ("Islamunde) by Lucky Dubz with events and persons like the Bichon family.

Conradstraat. The biggest crane of Europe is being build (more than FIFTY trucks are needed to bring in all the spares) for the huge glass/stain entrance cover of the new central station (ready between 2012 and 2013)

Stolkwijkstraat. I was terribly thirsty when I passed this cafetaria, but alas.

Eendrachtssingel. When Rotterdam was european capital a couple of years ago, this street has been seriously pimped with art and all. This doll is among them.

3e Katendrechtse Hoofd. In the Netherlands Remembrance Day is commemorated annually on 4 May. It is not a public holiday. Throughout the country, military personnel and civilians fallen in various conflicts are remembered. 2 minutes of silence are observed at 8:00 p.m. Remembrance Day is followed by Liberation Day tomorrow.

Herenoord. Since a couple of years now, Rotterdam has several flock of sheep to 'mow' the grasses. Not only do they prefer certain grasses and herbs, seeds cling to their furs or are distributed through their droppings, thus creating more variation in flowers and plants in the bigger city.

Hogebrug Overschie. This very bridge actually dates back till 1662 (although the middle part is about 100 years old) but there has been a bridge here since 1390.
