Heijn was 83 and died "peacefully" at home in Britain on Thursday, the company said Friday, without giving a cause of death. He was named for his grandfather, the founder of the Albert Heijn grocery chain that is now by far the Netherlands' largest.
Ahold is known for ownership of the Giant and Stop & Shop chains in the United States.

Parkkade. Reflections of a Rotterdam icon. For stability it is built on a concrete block of 1,900,000 kilograms (4,190,000 lb) so that the centre of gravity is below ground. It has a "crow's nest" observation platform 96 meters (315 ft) above-ground and a restaurant. Originally 101 meters (331 ft) in height it was the tallest building in Rotterdam. It lost this position for a while, but regained it when the "Space Tower" was added to the top of the building in 1970, giving an additional 85 meters (279 ft).

Meent, Today's theme days is about the photo of 2010. There were many highlights last year, but the world championship soccer was one of them. During the championship the Dutch team became almost unbeatable and the dutch people totally berserk. In the end, the German octopus Paul predicted the outcome right again: we became second.

May this year bring all of you love, peace, happiness and triumph in whatever you do :)
