Burgers (1978) works with the physical appearance of animals but gives them human characteristics. She refers to the sadness of the human species. According to the artist, people are like animals in their actions, but unlike animals they are conscious in their interaction and prone to destroy the space they live in. Burgers is clearly critical about her surroundings and her community. In her work she approaches this criticism with humor. 'You Bèèèèèètter NOT ENTER! Coolsingel, The other day I came by the old post office and saw there was an Ugg outlet. Busy!! The queue when they opened even got on the (local) tv!

Meent. I love a proper butcher. There are less and less of them. Mostly because of supermarkets selling cheap and ugly meat and driving them out of business in the end.

Beukelsdijk. Yes! We had a bit of snow yesterday.

Coolsingel. According to the city councile website the mayor will light the candles tonight at 19.15. I don't about you but to me the tree looks pretty lit already.

A20. There is a lot going on about the "new way of working" where the government even wants to oblige companies to facilitate employees working on their own chosen times. Commute is a world wide problem. How long does it take you to get to work?

Eendrachtsingel. After last week's snow and freeze we had a very mild weekend. From tomorrow on however winter returns.

Waterloostraat. Last week when my youngest son turned 10 he celebrated his party here with this graffiti workshop. They learned about the origins of graffiti, about tags and materials and then tried it out. How cool are their results?

Westewagenstraat. The other day I needed some applecake and where else to go in Rotterdam than to Dudok? When I entered the patisserie, this gentleman greeted me and remarked that he made for a pretty picture :) I will let you be the judge of that.

Beneden Oostzeedijk. Every city has its places where you simply need to pass, but don't feel very safe. A while ago the citycouncil let 2 female artists known as Transister change this passage into a bright and cheerful place. Oppert. Everybody thought it was too cold to empty their mailbox I reckon.

Veerhaven, if it weren't for the bikes you could almost picture this a hundred years ago.

Vasteland. Yeah, it is Sinterklaas today! These black Pete's are collecting money in the snow blizzard that is terrorizing half of western Europe at the moment. Hope you have all been good this year and Sinterklaas will leave you a present tonight.

Schouwburgplein. Huge pawns with proverbs in it from Ghandi for example; Be the change that you want to see in the world.

Hofplein. It is soooo Cold overhere. Yesterday was the coldest December 1st ever measured. The fountain makes for a pretty surrounding though when the water freezes on the plants.

Westewagenstraat. If I pass this shop full of model trains and cars I somehow never see a woman. Just men. Today's theme day is Time and not only the car you see here reminds us of a certain time, I have a feeling most men in this shop yearn for time lost long ago.
