Burgers (1978) works with the physical appearance of animals but gives them human characteristics. She refers to the sadness of the human species. According to the artist, people are like animals in their actions, but unlike animals they are conscious in their interaction and prone to destroy the space they live in. Burgers is clearly critical about her surroundings and her community. In her work she approaches this criticism with humor. 'You Bèèèèèètter NOT ENTER! Waterloostraat. Last week when my youngest son turned 10 he celebrated his party here with this graffiti workshop. They learned about the origins of graffiti, about tags and materials and then tried it out. How cool are their results?

Beneden Oostzeedijk. Every city has its places where you simply need to pass, but don't feel very safe. A while ago the citycouncil let 2 female artists known as Transister change this passage into a bright and cheerful place. Hofplein. It is soooo Cold overhere. Yesterday was the coldest December 1st ever measured. The fountain makes for a pretty surrounding though when the water freezes on the plants.
