Beursplein. Sinterklaas hasnot even left Spain yet, but the merchandise has been up and running for more than a month already. Every year it gets crazier and everything is started up earlier.

Pannekoekstraat. O yes, poffertjes!!!

Schilderstraat. The Netherlands in a nutshell.

Sunday, October 24, 2010

Lijnbaan. You may have noticed something simular in your own (European) city yesterday, at 3 pm there was a Flash Mob Freeze. You can tell from the faces who was wondering what the was going on and from the sharpness who was standing still yesterday for 5 minutes. See a Youtube video of it all here (yes Danielle, you're in it!)

Saturday, October 23, 2010

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

Rotterdam Ahoy. I saw the men's qualification for the Artistic Gymnastic World Championships yesterday. The whole event has a black shadow because of the affair around Yuri van Gelder (nickname Lord of the Rings) who was pulled out of the competition a few days befort the start, said to a relapse in cocaine use. A fact he denies btw.

Monday, October 18, 2010

My living room. My -today- 8 yr old daughter was having her first sleepover party. I wish you all a good Sunday!

The 'Blunderput', nickname for the affaire around the underground garage between museum Boymans and Sophia children's hospital. Originally budgeted at 46 million euro and done by the summer of 2007, it is now more likely the costs will be 104 million and by the way, this is the present state, so not open yet either.

Wednesday, October 13, 2010

Heemraadssingel. Although autumn is definitely here, it is still rather sunny and not too cold. Let's hope it stays like that till Christmas and then the snow may fall.

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

Delftsevaart, These are chocolate shoes from De Bonte Koe. I have no idea what a shoe like these in my size would have to cost.

Monday, October 11, 2010

Beukelsdijk. I think most Americans would call this something of a garage sale, except no one here has a garage. Junk sale or Rommelmarkt in Dutch qualifies too.

Sunday, October 10, 2010

Saturday, October 09, 2010

Schilderstraat. Danny de cactus sells way more than these cacti. Hammocks, pots and mexican tableware fill his little shop at the corner.

Friday, October 08, 2010
