Museum De Dubbelde Palmboom. Kees van Dongen, A dutch painter with an upcoming exhibition in museum Boymans, was born in Delfshaven in 1877. This weekend there was some sort of a festival in his honour where painters would paint their model in his style. I was at the opening of the gallerie with the results and enjoyed seeing everyone's interpretations.

Veerhaven. I was passing the Veerhaven yesterday morning when they were preparing the stage for the free classical concert of yesterday evening. Missed it? This afternoon at 1 they do the same but then more aimed at children.

View from the Erasmusbridge onto the Willemsbridge. It's raining cats and dogs overhere, with cellars under water, dikes almost giving in, the works. Today is a sad day. This afternoon I say goodbye to my friend Christien Hukom, who passed away, way for her time. Rest in peace girl and I will see you again at the other side!

Wilhelminapier, I hadnot been to Hotel New York in quite a while but their bitterballen are still nice.

Hoogstraat, a Dutch uncle, Dutch courage, going Dutch (or Dutch treat) are all expressions where the Dutch is used as a negative stereotype. The Belgians for sure call us avaricious or stingy. (we on the other hand call them simple or stupid, just saying it as it is :) ) This photo shows a stand with free (Gratis) pop being handed out. Within a second people were surrounding it. Would that be different in your country?

Leuvehaven. The ladies represent the weather we have before noon, the guy in shorts, the weather in the afternoon. And for the coming days there seems to be no change. At least we are not in Pakistan!

Weena. School and offices, everybody started again yesterday after the summer holidays so full bike racks at Central Station.

Mauritsstraat. Music club Exit is closed through August but opens the beginning of September again with an international Highschool Music Competetion. The Friday the 3rd they have a metal night and the 4th it is Punk. After music location Watt went bankrupt Rotterdam has few places left where you can still experience more or less little (un)known bands.

Termeulenplein. I have thought about and changed the text of this post a couple of times. These people cannot defend themselves and I don't want to use them as an example for something they do not know of. So. All I am saying is; these gulls are huge!

Parc near the Euromast. On a regular nigth after a nice day, the parc is filled with people having a BBQ, enjoying and relaxing.

Museumpark. The travelling festival De Parade opens in Amsterdam today and since a couple of days the money for using the toilets is spend on water projects in Africa and Asia :)

Kievietslaan. Restaurant The Harbour Club offers some great fish from all over the world. Tip; if you want to eat at the teracce, say so specifically while making your reservation ;)

De Esch, Leonidas. What soccer is for little boys in the Netherlands is (field) hockey for little girls.

Schiestraat, Rotterdam ByCycle is a bike excursion company that offers guided tours from 6 persons on. You can do a tour highlighting it's architecture, the inner city, a culinairy route or simply THE must have seens.

Mauritsstraat. I love these little shops in alleys I never come. This music stores sells classical, electrical and bass guitars and all the accessoires to go with them.

Schouwburgplein. You have two ears but you never hear the words twice (in Surinam language).
