Museum De Dubbelde Palmboom. Kees van Dongen, A dutch painter with an upcoming exhibition in museum Boymans, was born in Delfshaven in 1877. This weekend there was some sort of a festival in his honour where painters would paint their model in his style. I was at the opening of the gallerie with the results and enjoyed seeing everyone's interpretations.

Veerhaven. I was passing the Veerhaven yesterday morning when they were preparing the stage for the free classical concert of yesterday evening. Missed it? This afternoon at 1 they do the same but then more aimed at children.

View from the Erasmusbridge onto the Willemsbridge. It's raining cats and dogs overhere, with cellars under water, dikes almost giving in, the works. Hoogstraat, a Dutch uncle, Dutch courage, going Dutch (or Dutch treat) are all expressions where the Dutch is used as a negative stereotype. The Belgians for sure call us avaricious or stingy. (we on the other hand call them simple or stupid, just saying it as it is :) ) This photo shows a stand with free (Gratis) pop being handed out. Within a second people were surrounding it. Would that be different in your country?

Mauritsstraat. Music club Exit is closed through August but opens the beginning of September again with an international Highschool Music Competetion. The Friday the 3rd they have a metal night and the 4th it is Punk. After music location Watt went bankrupt Rotterdam has few places left where you can still experience more or less little (un)known bands.
