Kralingse Plas. Ice-skating on natural ice. The e-word (eleven-city-tour) is being whispered louder and louder. If the freeze continues for at least another week, our country is going berserk for a 200 km tour on natural ice all through the province of Friesland.

Boezemlaan. I read a story the other day in the newspaper about an American school banning Ugg boots for girls because they hid their cell phones in there. As you can see, Ugg's are a universal problem :)

Heemraadssingel. I told you we were expecting snow didn't I? It was beautiful for about 2 hours and then the snowplows and cars spoiled most of it alas.

Laanslootseweg. It is pretty cold out at nights and during the day it still freezes too. This weekend (as long as today's snow doesnot spoil it) there will probably be kids skating over this river.

Hofplein. The International Film Festival is at full speed. Which movie would you recommend?

My place. Ladies and people, meet Sam, one of our cats. As you can see Sam's favorite activity is sleeping. Preferably over the heating. My back yard. Well, for some of you this probably won't qualify as snow, but it's our first this winter, so I am saying YEAH snow!!

Roel Langerakpark. We are supposed to have a colder weekend but sofar it seems like a very earlyl spring.

Noordschans. This mill dates back till 1716 but was dismantled in 1921 after a storm. It grinded malt for distilleries and from the looks on the sign to are going to restore or redesign it.

Vroesepark. A big birch fallen over.

Duytstraat. An old christian church turned into a mosque once it became redundant.

Middellandstraat. One of the joys of living in a big city is getting to know all sorts of food. I asked the shopkeeper what the green, bubbly things in the middle were and he told me they were karaily's from India. They are some kind of melons of which you scrub the skin before you can eat them.

My place. As I have a new puppy that requires going out at godforsaken hours I had ample opportunity to howl at the full moon last night.
