Kralingse Plas. Ice-skating on natural ice. The e-word (eleven-city-tour) is being whispered louder and louder. If the freeze continues for at least another week, our country is going berserk for a 200 km tour on natural ice all through the province of Friesland.

Middellandstraat. One of the joys of living in a big city is getting to know all sorts of food. I asked the shopkeeper what the green, bubbly things in the middle were and he told me they were karaily's from India. They are some kind of melons of which you scrub the skin before you can eat them.
